The Romance of Perfume Fan Swap

We're hosting a fan swap using the new chipboard Fancy Fan Blades. (Alpha Stamps exclusives!)

The theme is The Romance of Perfume! You could interpret the theme from the romance aspect (as romantic couples, especially sharing bouquets of roses), or the scent of flowers (where perfume originates), or the mystery of a ladies’ dressing table (where perfume bottles reside).

This swap will be 5 for 5: create 5 different fan blades and receive 5 in return, all by different artists! Artwork will be due May 21, 2012.

And there's a HUGE Fan Swap Supplies Sale (including 6 New Collage Sheets (with images from the 18th to 20th centuries... from fans and ladies using fans to beautiful (and ornate) perfume bottle labels from my collection of ephemera)!

The beautiful sample fan at right is by Design Team Member Laura Carson.

Smaller snippets of sample fans, below, are by Design Team Members Nichola Battilana and Caroline Ouzts-Hay.

More info (and lots more art samples!)

"Spoon Pendants" Tutorial Recap

Thursday we published a tutorial by the fabulous Lynn Stevens for clever pendants made from (silverware) spoons! And she made pendants in multiple styles, from Marie Antoinette to seashells and mermaids.

And, in honor of Lynn's tutorial, all of the components Lynn used are on sale!

Here's just a few of the items; and here's a complete list of the sale items you could use to make your own pendant.

- Paris Pendants Collage Sheet

- Fleur de Lys Charms

- Ornate Drops (Raw Brass)

- Baroque Scroll with Loop (Raw Brass)

- Diamond Glaze

- Florentine Brass Leaves

Read the complete tutorial on the blog.

(Pssst! Don't worry; even if you're frightened by the idea of using a torch, you could still use the oval settings (also on sale) to create a pendant!)
