About Us

Alpha Stamps came into existence as only an Internet business could. A group of San Francisco Bay Area Web and print designers who met online trading ATCs or Artist’s Trading Cards recognized an unfilled market niche, and their ability to fill it. Alpha Stamps allows these designers to create interesting work without the constraints of serving a client's business, giving them the ability to follow their own muse.

Recognizing that no creative venture can be run by committee someone has to be the leader. Leslie Elledge is the Alpha Alpha Stamper; she designed the Web site between the activities of her own design company, Capacis. She is also the principal designer and vets other designers work.

In a leafy bower deep in the heart of Martinez, CA, together with the other Alpha Stampers and a few elves, we develop new and interesting products, fulfill your orders, keep the presses oiled and the stamps inked.

Copyright Use Policy

Alpha Stamps is a full-fledged “Angel” Company. Please feel free to sell your handmade, one-of–a-kind artwork using any of our products. We appreciate you noting us as a source for your supplies whenever possible. This policy applies to all Alpha Stamps designs, including those under license from various designers.

This use has been surpassed when quantities of greater than 20 are produced by hired employees for the purpose of mass marketing. For further details or permission on additional use, please contact Alpha Stamps.

Added July 2005: Question: Can I reproduce your collage sheets?

Answer: Yes, within reason. We understand that sometimes you need a different size of our images or multiples, etc. Please feel free to copy them if need be for your own projects, but do not copy and resell them. There is a copyright notice on the sheets that will disallow a commercial copier from duplicating the sheets.

Shipping Charges and Checking Out

Updated February 2010: We ship via USPS either First Class or Priority Mail depending on the size of the package. We do not offer expedited shipping at this time. Orders are usually processed and shipped within 4 business days of being placed. However there are exceptions, such as an order containing mounted stamps may take a bit more time to process because they will have to be assembled. Shipping charges will be added to your order upon checkout, and are based on the dollar amount of your order. We use PayPal for online credit card transactions but you don't have to have a PayPal account to checkout. Just follow the simple instructions on the first PayPal page to check out without signing into PayPal.

International Shipping Charges

Updated February 2010: Flat rate shipping for international packages is $13.45 ($11.45 to Canada) for a Priority Mail Small Flat Rate Box (8-5/8" x 5-3/8" x 1-5/8") or a Priority Mail Flat Rate Envelope (12-1/2'' x 9-1/2''). You may be asked to pay an additional shipping charge if your items are too large or there are too many items to fit in either a Priority Mail Small Flat Rate Box or Envelope. Items too large or too numerous for a Priority Mail Small Flat Rate Box or Envelope will not be available for international shipping unless you are willing to pay an additional shipping charge. Many items on the site are marked with an asterisk (*) indicating this, however not all of the items or combination of items are marked. You will receive an email from us after placing your order, indicating the need for additional shipping.

Substitutions

We reserve the right to make ribbon color substitutions, based on availability from the manufacturer. (Ribbons are generally only changed when a color is discontinued).

Returns

Updated December 2009: We have few strict rules, but one of them does concern returns. First, we do not accept returns on cut ribbons, yardage, magazines, books, collage sheets or opened "packaged" items. Pre-approval for all returns must be obtained by email (please explain the reason for the return when emailing). We honor returns 30 days from the ship date only (no exceptions to this rule). All returns will be given store credit, no refunds. Ordinarily you will not be credited for shipping. We absolutely do not credit for used merchandise, unless there is a problem with the manufacturing of the product. We do not accept any returns on "Special Orders."

Alternatives to Online Purchasing

Updated September 2009: We are an online only business and do not have a store front. We prefer to have all of the orders we receive go through our online shopping cart. We do realize that not everyone is comfortable shopping online, so we do sometimes make exceptions. If you are unable to make your purchase online please contact Teri at teri@alphastamps.com to make other arrangements.

Please do not send a personal check or money order without contacting Teri first. If we receive an unauthorized check or money order it will be returned to the sender, and the order will not be filled. Under no circumstances will we accept an international money order.
