New Art Blocks and Wooden Trims (+ FREE Gift Kit & Giveaway!)

Filed under Art Projects, Laura Carson, Newsletters, Tutorials, Vintage Voyage Kit
Note: most of the links on this post no longer work, as we moved to a new Web site in 2018. However, you can see the supply list items from Laura’s project that are still available on the new site.

Leslie here with a quick note: Miz Bella’s going to lead off this newsletter with an introduction to two beautiful new projects by Laura Carson. Then I’ll take the reins for even more art (by Guest Designer Susan Killam), a big group of new Wooden Art Blocks (and trims), a new FREE Gift Kit, and today’s Giveaway!

If your sails weren’t blown away by Design Team Member Laura Carson’s first two creations using the Vintage Voyage Kit, On The Boardwalk by The Sea and Ships Ahoy, this week’s offerings might put some steam into them!

First up is the Travel Journal with A Twist (with a Tutorial!) and it has me all bent out of shape over how incredibly beautiful it is! Moving from Laura’s hand-made books, this piece is actually a display piece that would look lovely anytime of the year.

Laura’s book starts with the Wooden Album Covers that are stained with Distress Inks, and for extra color on the cover she has used Gilders Paste – Patina. Inside of the book Laura shows you how to layer the pages for an open book effect using the beautiful Maritime Collection of papers. To finish off the inside of the book, Laura uses assorted images from the following collage sheets: The Sea Calls to Me, Titanic Telegrams & Ephemera, The Teens, Paris Postcards and Letters from the Past.

To see how Laura created the book base and attached her book to it, (and to see more pictures!) visit her blog.

Next is Laura’s stunning paper sailboat, The Sea Calls to Me. Seriously, I think that Laura is a compendium of craftiness with her art designs. As you all know, Laura’s attention to detail is legendary and she does not disappoint with her sailboat (don’t miss that link to Laura’s blog… time is fleeting and we must move on).

Third in today’s tsunami of eye candy is a Botanical Tea Art Block by Guest Designer Susan Killam (and there’s so much to tell, there’s a whole ‘nuther blog post about Susan’s artwork!)

Plus scroll down for info on today’s Botanical Tea Art Block Giveaway that includes pretty much everything Susan used in her Botanical Tea Art Block!

We’ve had the Botanical Tea Collection for a couple of months, but seeing Susan’s Art Block made me remember what a pretty group it is.

So, I’ve put together a little FREE Botanical Tea Mini Gift Kit containing a mix of all of the 12×12 Scrapbook Papers in the Botanical Tea Collection! (Sorry, you won’t receive every sheet — it’s a big group with 12 sheets! — but I’m mixing up all the papers so you’ll receive a random set of 4 prints).

The mini kit is FREE for all orders over $20! Sale items are eligible, too (toward meeting the $20 requirement, but shipping and taxes are not).

There’s nothing you need to do (no coupon to enter). Beginning today (April 24th), and until the kits are gone, we’ll include a free kit in all qualifying orders!

Hooray! A Botanical Tea Art Block Giveaway!

Nice! In addition to a Botanical Tea Mini Gift Kit, almost everything Susan used in her Botanical Tea Art Block is in today’s Giveaway! Plus, some of the adorable (and back in stock) Cherry Blossom Garland (and some of the Pink Rose Garland, too!)

AND, not in Susan’s artwork (but new today (see photos and links above) and included in the Giveaway):
– Square Wood Block
– Mitered Wooden Roof Trim
– Miniature Wood Trim – Dotted
