New Alice Art, Metal Bits, Birds & Dresden

Filed under Alice in Wonderland, New Products, Rubber Stamps

Guest Designer Teri Calia has outdone herself making beautiful Alice in Wonderland (and Halloween) ATCs and collages. In addition to the new products listed below, visit the gallery or her bio to read more or to learn more about the specific products she used in each piece.

Teri used lots of metal embellishments from the Tim Holtz line:

Philosophy Tags.
Antique-colored round metal tags in 3 colors (nickel, copper and brass) stamped with words and numbers. Or make your own with the brass key tags and a new alphabet metal punch set.

– Sprocket Gears.
Antique-colored gears (also in 3 colors) that are like larger versions of our mini watch gears.

Trinket Pins.
They’re like (miniature) industrial safety pins. And they have tiny words imprinted on them (along with larger numbers) like “thoughts” and “memento”.

Large Jump Rings in 3 Colors.
Antique-looking jump rings.
Pretty large for jewelry unless you’re making a steampunk creation.

Hitch Fasteners.

12 sets of 2-part fasteners with screw backs. Good for fastening things to other things: the wide base on both parts act like washers to keep holes from ripping out. Or use them as little hooks/knobs to hang things off of (or wind thread or string around).

Hinge Clips – in 2 Colors.
Either antique nickel finish or enamel red. Nice size for creating a quick banner from 1″ x 3″ slides (clip to the top of a collaged “slide sandwich” bound with metal foil tape; a way to add hanging loops without metal frames or soldering).

– Fancy Rectangular Catch.
Antique-colored metal. 2 parts. 2″ wide. Nicely detailed.

Metallic Mini Brads in 3 Colors.
Antique bronze, copper or pewter.

Those sweet little leaping rabbit silver-colored beads (in the fringe of the Mad Hatter inchies frame) are Pewter Rabbit Beads. Pewter Bunnies Charms are also newly posted.

Birds & Dragonflies

– 4 Full-Color Bird Dresden Sheets.
Glossy and embossed. Imported from both England and Germany. Some are die-cut.

Black Swallows Dresden.
Matte black; beautiful embossing. Each bird is 2-1/8″ tall. Set of 15.

Gold Birds & Butterflies Dresden.
A mix of butterflies and birds. The gold is on both sides of the embossed sheet.

(Before we leave the subject of new dresden, there are some gorgeous Copper Wings, Turquoise Borders and Turquoise-Color Sheets of Misc Objects.)

– Holiday Birds Glitter Tags in Tin.
36 die-cut heavy cardstock tags embellished with glitter. The backs are blank for writing a message. 6 each of 6 designs.

– New Charms: Brass Singing Bird Charms and Pewter Dragonfly Charms.

– New Mini Brads: Antique Copper Dragonfly Brads and Fleur de Lys Brads – in 2 Colors.
All are 5/8″ wide.

A Few Halloween Goodies

– Halloween Glitter Postcards in Tin.
Reproductions of gorgeous postcards with fine silver glitter. 12 postcards (2 each of 6 designs).

3 Thin Halloween Ribbons.
They’re all soft and thin enough for miniature projects.

Tiny Crystal Balls.
Glass ball on a gold (plastic) base. 7/8″ wide at the bottom of base.

4 Mini Felt Die-Cuts.
A smaller version of the self-adhesive, die-cut felt already on the site. Only 3/4″ wide. Vines, hearts, oak leaves or pumpkins.

Chat Noir Rubber Stamp.
What a sweet black cat.

While we’re discussing stamps…

– Eyeglasses.
A new stamp by Tracy Roos.

Picasso Quote.
“Love is the greatest refreshment in life.”

– Clear Borders Stamp Set.
Set of 6 borders (5-3/4″ long each). A mix of thin detailed borders and some wider swirly flourishes.

Lots of Miscellaneous Supplies

– Vamp Stamp News – Sept ’08 Issue.
The September issue has a product review of a new product I also like: the Get Rollin’ Handle (for creating repeating patterns from small clear stamps or unmounted rubber stamps). There are also articles on bleach stamping and tips on using alchohol inks. And, as always, the cards on the front and back covers and in the centerfold galleries have full instructions.

Jumbo Get Rollin’ Handle.
Create your very own backgrounds and custom patterns with the Get Rollin’ Handle. For use with absolutely any acrylic stamps (or unmonted red rubber stamps), the Get Rollin’ lets you stick your stamps to the rolling wheel, then run the roller over an ink pad and roll the stamped images onto your papers. (Or snap on the Inking Handle with an Ink Cartridge and you can stamp a long, continuous pattern without needing to reink.)

Silver Hinged Pendant Frames.
Lightweight. Fairly thick/deep. The flip-top lid snaps closed and has a loop for hanging.

– Red Riding Hood #3 Collage Sheet.
Another sheet from the Brothers’ Grimm series.

“The Mailbag” Collage Sheet.
Vintage postcards and mailings labels. This sheet is actually two half-page sheets: one on cardstock and one on clear transparency.

– Utensils Double-Sided Scrapbook Paper.
Knives, forks & spoons on one side and polka dots on the other. 12″ x 12″ sheet. 65# cardstock.

Postcards from the Seashore Scrapbook Paper.
The back is a sepia-toned monotone version of the front.

Black Cardstock Scrapbook Paper.

Not much to look at (online) but it’s a 65#, acid-free, flat (no texture) black cardstock sheet.

– Crackle Accents.
Similar to Glossy Accents, but adds a cracked, vintage finish (still glossy). It’s fast drying and has a very thin tip for precise placement.

“The Ultimate!” Crafter’s Glue.
Water-based, non-toxic, clear-drying glue. Adheres to metals, plastics, glass… Sarah Whitmire recommends it in her Coffee Table Fortune Teller Box Tutorial.

Art Glitter Fabric Adhesive.
Art Institute Fabric Glitter Glue was created just for fabric. This adhesive is permanently, flexible, dries clear, is non-toxic and acid-free. With this adhesive you can write names, embellish rubber stamped or painted designs on cotton T-shirts and more. Use glitter to create fabric art. When cured, fabric is washable. Fine tip.

– Pee Wee Christmas Glitter Kit.
Fine glitter. Similar to the fine glitter on the Halloween Glitter Postcards or Holiday Birds Glitter Tags.
Kit includes seven 1/4 oz. (2 gram) jars in a larger container (in Christmas-y colors).

Cat’s Eye Fluid Chalk Ink Pad Set with Stylus.
A nice selection of earthy colors for antiquing/faux rusting a paper project. Use the stylus handle to turn the little ink pads into “brushes.” Chalk ink dries with a matte, opaque finish (not shiny).
