TWO Alice Projects by Nichola; Plus Christmas?!

Filed under Alice in Wonderland, Back in Stock, Christmas, Giveaways, Nichola Battilana, Sale, Tutorials

A Visit to Wonderland Part I: Messy Mixed Media Wonderland Character Cards
by Design Team Member Nichola Battilana

I adore these cards by Nichola! They look so rich with details (and they look antique)… and to think the frames are raw cardboard with rubber stamping, doodling, and some ink for aging…

I’ll let Nichola introduce the project:

My set includes the Tweedle boys, the Hatter, the Hare and the Queen. Each being assigned a card suit in this Playing Card Set – 4 Suits (Alice is probably off somewhere drinking something she really shouldn’t.)

These cards were made simply. The background is old paper with an oval of Hearts & Clubs Card Suits Scrapbook Paper on top. I painted the corners of the background so that when the top layer is in place, they match the suit.

The top layer is just painted and inked and stamped, not covered in paper at all. When put in place, I’ve filled the suit crevice with Glossy Accents, and the whole thing grunged up.

Brilliant! And, of course, Nichola fussy-cut the characters (and the text banners) to sit on top (raised up by a bit of sticky foam).

Here’s a link to all the supplies Nichola used (note: that includes the supplies for PART TWO of the Alice project by Nichola… more info on the second half is below in the Giveaway section). Be sure to visit Nichola’s blog post for more info on how she made these beautiful cards!

Lots of CHRISTMAS things are Back in Stock!

    Tiny Alice Accordion Book Giveaway!

Eek! So cute! Nichola made a whole nuther project today WITH A TUTORIAL! Yay! (See the wide photo below for a preview on the tute.) See the whole thing at a separate blog post: A Visit to Wonderland Part II: Wee Wonderland Accordion Book with Tutorial.

But first (or when you return): here’s a couple of my fave bits:

    - I LOVE the peek-a-book windows that Nichola punched in the pages of the black accordion book (to show images from the Tiny Alice Book Covers Collage Sheet through)

    and

    - Nichola put together the pages of the book so that the pics can be slipped out and changed(!)

I’ve picked out just FOUR items from Nichola’s supply list, which is kinda all you’ll need (save scissors and glue) to make your own tiny book:
    - Matchbox Ticket Journal – Black
    - Tiny Alice Book Covers Collage Sheet
    - Medium Bronze White Rabbit Charm
    - Hearts & Clubs Card Suits Scrapbook Paper

BONUS: I’m also including these Christmas collage sheets from the SALE section with similarly tiny images:
    - Tiny Christmas Windows Collage Sheet
    - Santa is Outside Collage Sheet

And what are you going to make? An Alice book? A Christmas book? Not even a book at all?

Don’t forget to leave your (hello!) correct email address, too, so I can contact the winner; your email address does not need to be made public. Note: I’m offering free shipping, too, but only within the USA. International shipping will still apply.

Hey, who won the House of Alice Giveaway from Sunday’s newsletter? That would be Diane Alterman! Congrats! Check your email for info.
