Buzzy Bee’s Butterfly Boutique by Laura Carson!

Filed under Art Projects, Collage Sheets, Fairy Garden, Giveaways, Laura Carson, Sale, Tutorials

Wow! So nice to see artwork from Laura Carson again. And such a sweet project for spring: Buzzy Bee’s Butterfly Boutique! That’s just a portion of the front doors of the boutique shown at right (see below for a wide photos of the inside of the boutique, plus farther down in the Giveaway for 2 more photos).

Laura used the 7 Inch Tall Theatre Cabinet as the structure for her boutique. And she created 2 NEW collage sheets with whimsical butterfly fairies in various sizes (plus tons of butterflies). They remind me of Art Deco flappers, with their headdresses.

Here’s some info about the artwork from Laura’s blog post:

On the front you see butterfly fairies sporting the latest fashions while bees and butterflies fly around them. The sign at the top (which you can download from Laura’s blog post!) is hanging from a new Butterfly & Honeycomb Medley that I painted and accented with new Chipboard Leafy Swirls, bees, metal and chipboard butterflies and flowers.

Beautiful work, Laura! Lucky for us, Laura provides a tutorial (and lots more photos) on her blog post. Plus here’s Laura’s supply list. And… there’s another photo (of Buzzy Bee himself!) in the Giveaway section below! (But don’t miss the new goodies & new sale between here and there!)

What else is new today?

More new things from Laura’s artwork! PLUS see that chipboard medley of honeycomb & butterlies in the center of the top row? There’s a big photo from Laura’s tutorial showing it in use below in the Giveaway!! AND: as there’s a Birds & Bees FLASH SALE, most of the new items are on sale, too!

Hooray for the Buzzy Bee’s Butterfly Boutique Giveaway!

There’s Mr. Bee! Beside looking proud-as-can-be, partially hidden behind some cattails; there’s another photo of him below: as a preview that you can download him from Laura’s blog post!

I love the rich golden colors (and some with metalic finishes) of the paper that Laura used in the backgrounds and on the sides of the shadowbox/cabinet. I haven’t even mentioned this beautiful new paper: Tell the Bees 6×6 Paper Pad.

In addition to those cattails and the paper pad (!), I’m including these goodies from Laura’s supply list in the Giveaway:
– BOTH of her new collage sheets!
– The NEW Small Butterflies & Dragonflies Set
– The NEW Butterfly & Honeycomb Medley (see the photo below for a close-up of this chipboard header)
12mm Resin Sunflowers (also on that close-up below)
– 3 of the Raw Brass Dragonfly Charms (see them on the photo at right, decorating the dress on display)

And 3 more things from Laura’s supplies (that are also shown in photos below — below the wide pic of the header — and all on sale!):
Butterflies & Moths Collage Sheet (Laura used some of the larger ones as wings on her fashionistas)
Honeycomb & Bees Die-Cut Chipboard Set (I spy both the honeycomb and a couple bees from this set on the front cover — including on that wide close-up pic below)
Mini Honeycomb Stencil (all over the place on background papers!)
