New Vintage Triptych Florentine; Shrines & Triptychs on SALE!

Filed under Art Projects, Back in Stock, Lora Mahaffey, Rhonda Secrist Thomas, Tutorials

Nice! We have 2 very different projects today, both using the new Vintage Triptych Florentine!!

Four laser-cut pieces (including that center overlay). Hinge them together (with paper tape, metal hinges, etc.) for a shrine with doors.

Approx. 6″ tall. And as you’ll see, quite versatile! AND… part of today’s flash sale!

Wow! I love how Rhonda overlaid the ladies from the Large Victorian Corsets Collage Sheet (printed on clear transparency) over the busy little patterns in the new 26 Secrets of India 8×8 Paper Pad! See the close-up on the left side of the photo above.

Here’s some of the intro text from Rhonda’s blog post:

Sometimes you only need a handful of items to create something wonderful. That’s how it was with this little project called Secrets of India.

I adhered the printed images onto a selected paper from the collection, and then trimmed. It just brought the project together so beautifully.

The pattern is so delicate behind this young lady’s face. But it also brings all three women together within the triptych. Maybe it’s three sisters or three generations.

Beautiful work, Rhonda! Here’s Rhonda’s supply list (short and sweet!) and her blog post.

See what I mean by a completely different look? Yes, it’s the same base structure but world’s away. Lora used papers from the Forest 8×8 Paper Pad (with beautiful hand-lettering around the edges of the center overlay/frame). Luckily, she provides a tutorial (including how she practiced her writing on a tissue paper overlay to test out her spacing).

Here’s some of the intro text from Lora’s blog post:

Sometimes we all need to remember to be kind to ourselves. To go out into the world, take a deep breath and reconnect with the bigger picture.

This week I’ve used the Vintage Triptych Florentine to make a peaceful and (hopefully) charming little reminder to do that.

Using a piece of tracing paper, I practiced writing my quote and working out the placement of the words. I used a permanent black marker and wrote them over the arching center, used matte medium over the top of the words and after it dried, I inked up the words to soften the black words an dhelp them become a part of the whole.

Lovely work, Lora! And thanks for all the tips! Here’s Lora’s blog post with a tutorial.
