New Book Nooks & Half Scale Miniatures Sale!

Filed under Book Nooks, Giveaways, Guest Designers, Miniatures, New Products, Sale

Cute! Before I show off some pretty artwork using one of these beauties, here’s the basics:

Both of these sizes of Book Nooks were designed to fit a tiny scene among the books on your bookcase! So they are like tall skinny room boxes. Or maybe a patio or alleyway city scene hidden in your books?

They are both 4″ wide when assembled. AND there’s a new Balcony (which also fits across the top window of the Half Scale 2-Story Room Box) that can fit inside either of the Book Nooks!

The Book Nooks can also be used as a narrow half-scale (1:24) room box (2 or 3 stories tall)… an example of just that is below!

And inspired by the new items and new art: ALL Half Scale Miniatures are on sale through tomorrow night (FRIDAY night, June 12th)! This group includes tons of miniature furniture, props AND even some half scale collage aheets (like the Half Scale P&J Theatre Collage Sheet shown at left)! Over 50 items!

See the entire sale collection here!

European Alley Book Nook by Guest Designer Connie Littell!

Oh! Do you remember that sweet teapot Alice shrine that Connie made for us recently? (Just click on that photo at left for more photos and info.)

Well, Connie is back with a European Alley Book Nook inside one of the new Large Book Nooks! Scroll down a wee bit for a wide photo showing 3 shots of the scene (the center being a work-in-progress photo: note that two of the paned windows from the new Dollhouse Windows with Shutters 1:24 are used as French doors behind the new balcony). Nice!

Here’s a teaser from Connie’s blog post:

Here’s something brand new… a book nook! These little things are getting popular for adding miniature magic to bookshelves. They measure roughly the height and width of one or two books and are decorated as slender dioramas. When sandwiched between two books on a bookshelf, it appears your shelf is a passageway to someplace either real or imagined. Thanks to our recent travel, I was inspired to make a European alleyway. I was enchanted by the colorful homes we came across in Italy, France, Spain and Portugal.

Love the artwork, Connie! Read more (and see lots more photos) on her blog post. Plus here’s Connie’s supply list. But don’t miss the new goodies and a related Giveaway below!

What else is new today?

All are extra chipboard items in Connies’ artwork! And as all 3 are 1:24 scale, they’re all part of the sale, too!

New Book Nooks Giveaway!

I love this sort of thing! I have little wooden boxes here and there with little scenes in them, but these narrow ones would be a new challenge! I would love to do either a Parisean doorway, a “secret” garden from Charleston, SC or a little alleyway/street in Edinburg, Scotland! I mean, books are doorways already!

A combination of books, crafts and a travel theme….what could be better. I think I’d lean towards the blue and white of Greece. Ahh.. About the only way we’ll get to travel for a while.
