Halloween & Hardware (& How to Hinge a House??)

Halloween so soon? Why, YES! I love the new Happy Haunting Collection (and apparently, so does the Design Team)! I’d keep new Halloween goodies coming all year round if I could.

This is a particularly good collection. Cute, retro images from vintage postcards (and that Man in the Moon motif is wonderful). Plus black cats, and lots of black wrought iron fences and gates.

And there are twelve 12″ x 12″ Scrapbook Papers, an 8″ x 8″ Paper Pad, 3 Cling Stamp Sets & Cardstock Stickers (also laid out on a 12″ x 12″ sheet). More pics of a few of this wide selection are below.

Antique Brass Spider Web
And while we’re talking Halloween… NEW antiqued brass-plated pewter spider webs; no loops but lots of negative spaces in the web for connecting.

And before you start planning your Halloween decorating, don’t forget to scroll down and see the new hardware, a tiny Masonite shrine kit, Dresden, plus TWO Hinged Chipboard Birdhouse tutorials!

 Hinged Chipboard Birdhouses

Two Design Team Members both had the idea to slice and hinge the Chipboard Birdhouse Shapes, to much different effect.

Nichola Battilana sliced the birdhouses down the center, and then twice more vertically to make little gate-fold shrines! See the photo at left.

Laura Carson sliced off a bit of the roof on the inside edges of 3 birdhouses so she’d have straight edges to hinge (see photo below right). Then after much decorating, her triptych became an Aviary Millinery!

And just in time for your own mini hinge experimenting, Small Gold Hinges have arrived (with ridiculously tiny Phillips-head screws!).
