Newsletter: ICE Resin + Paperclay + Halloween

Filed under Halloween, New Products, Newsletters

Wow — there are so many cool choices for molds (making your own or buying pre-made) and things put into the molds (Paperclay and ICE Resin) in this newsletter. Wendy Anderson got to play with some of all of those and the results are gorgeous!

First, there are her “Ancient Amulets” that look so old and corroded but are actually just Paperclay and Acrylic Paint! See the photo at right. She experimented with the new Polymer Clay Molds (and don’t forget Mold Release Powder so things don’t stick).

Next, Wendy made some flexible molds from picture moldings and statues around her home, using Silicone Molding Putty. Then she experimented casting ICE Resin into her new molds and they look great.

Note: you could also use a flexible mold with Paperclay — and those Polymer Clay Molds Wendy used for her Aumlets could be used with ICE Resin (but as they’d need a silicone spray release rather than powder, I’d probably not want to use the same mold for both mediums).

See more pics of Wendy’s experiments with Paperclay, ICE Resin, Polymer Clay Molds and Silicone Molding Putty in this blog post.

And don’t forget that ICE Resin is ideal for making one-of-a-kind pendants and jewelry. That cute (new) Oval Hobnail Bezel at right would be perfect.

Acrylic Paint Dabbers — Wendy’s Picks  View All

Wendy did such a phenomenal job of turning Paperclay (and acrylic paint) into rustic amulets that I let her choose the palette for the return of Paint Dabbers.
