Festive Fall Wreath Tutorial

Filed under Art Projects, Design Team, Tutorials

Well now, look at how cute this Festive Fall Wreath is that Design Team Member Shannon Tuttle has created!

Shannon has also created a tutorial for her wreath and it is so eaaasy peasy. Why, you could even make a few and play ring-toss using the head of a pesky relative after Thanksgiving dinner as a target! Heheh, oh yes wouldn’t that be most fabulous……but I digress!

The sweet owls almost never were! Shannon says:

I absolutely love the tufted owls, I am especially thrilled about how the sunflower buttons made perfect little owl eyes (I was literally squealing like a demented school girl when I saw how cute they turned out). They are so adorable. This project took many 180 turns and did not come out like I had originally planned. One thing I learned doing this project was to let go of the preconceived ideas I had and just let the process flow without those preconceived notions cluttering up my brain. If I hadn’t done that the owls would never have come into being.

Once again we are seeing how versatile the Maple & Oak Die-Cut Chipboard Leaves are! The Chipboard Owl Silhouettes with their Sunflower Button eyes are adorable and I love that Shannon dressed the owls up in Assorted Feathers so that they weren’t left completely naked.

Also worth noting before you fly off to check out Shannon’s tutorial are the three little perches for the owls using the shapes she cut from the New and On Sale! Autumn Gatherings Decorative Strip Die. If you are crazy about using dies like we all are now here at Alpha Stamps; you will LOVE this die. It creates 20 (twenty!) separate leaves, acorns and twigs that you can arrange any way you’d like.

Are you ready? Who? You that’s who! You can find Shannon’s tutorial here.
