    Guest Designer Alice Eads

Filed under Art Projects, Guest Designers, Kits

We are excited to introduce to you Miz Alice Eads, an Alpha Stamps Yahoo Group Member who is our Guest Designer for the January 2014 Romantic Women Kit! For the upcoming year we thought hmmm… how fabulous would it be to pull Guest Designers from the talented group of artists who participate in our monthly swaps? We thought it would be a great opportunity for our Yahoo Group Members to have a chance at being Guest Designers so that is what we’re going to do!

Alice has participated in many of the Alpha Stamps swaps and her work has always stood out so she is our first Guest Designer for 2014.

I love creating art. It is as simple as that. It is what I have always done, in one form or other… painting, jewelry & beading, collage, assemblage, tag & mail art, and ATCs.

I also have a passion for collecting, to include in my art. Some of the items I enjoy collecting are ephemera, vintage photos, and jewelry. Scouring antique stores and flea markets for bits and pieces, treasures to alter, books, bottles, drawers, tins and so on.

It has only been in the past 3 years since retiring that I have been free to immerse myself in what truly makes me happy. This was also about the time I came across Alpha Stamps and art swaps and I’ve been hooked ever since. My husband turned our den into a studio for me and now I make art every day!

Using the New! January 2014 Kit – Romantic Women Alice created 2 lovely cards and a Victorian Paper Doll. The images for the women came from the New and On Sale! The Lady in Blue and the Victorian Fashions Collage Sheets (also included in the kit). Aren’t they gorgeous? (More photos of artwork from the Romantic Women Kit are in the Gallery.)

One of my favorite elements is the New and On Sale! Tulle Netting – 6 Inch Wide that comes in a variety of colors on a 25 yard spool! That’s a lot of tulle to play with, and as you can see from Alice’s Key To My Heart artwork, at right, it makes beautiful bows and embellishments.

Also the New and On Sale! Chipboard Torso Die-Cuts that are exclusive to Alpha Stamps are so versatile! Everyone loves to create paper dolls, or you could use them to add more of a 3D element to an ATC or book, and don’t you think that paper doll ornaments with lots of hanging ribbons and fibers would be gorgeous?

If you’d like a chance to be one of the Alpha Stamps Guest Designers in 2014, head on over to the Yahoo Group sign up for a swap, put your best work forward and have fun with it!
