Nature Preserved
Artists are collectors of many things and we're sure your stash contains lots of treasures from the great outdoors. Acorns, seedpods, grapevines, grasses, shells, twigs, bark, flowers — Mother Nature's bounty is endless.

We'd like to see how you incorporate aspects of nature into your artwork. So grab a basket — go out into the garden, take a stroll, wander along the beach, or sort through your supplies. Show us what you can do with design elements borrowed from the environment. Leave your findings natural or enhance them — gesso some grass, paint a pod, gild a grapevine — or any other interesting ideas you can conjure up.

September/October 2007

Submission Deadline: April 15, 2007

Vintage Halloween
Witchy women, jack o'lanterns, gothic tales, fairies and goblins — the magical holiday of Halloween is filled with wonderful images and ideas that beg for artistic expression. We'd like you to stir the caldron, cast a spell, do whatever's necessary to conjure up some spooktacular vintage Halloween artwork.

Think elegant and sophisticated, romantic and timeless as you sort through your collection of black and white photographs, ephemera, old papers and pages. For the Sep/Oct 2007 please submit paper and mixed-media projects that capture the beguiling and enchanting spirit of a vintage Halloween.

Crazy About Coral

Submission Deadline: February 1, 2007

It's time again for another round of color challenges - this one celebrating the color of coral. Bright and energetic or muted and subtle, coral should be used as the predominant color in your submissions. Send us your coral creations; results will be published in the Jun/Jul 07 issue.

Stencil Me In!

Submission Deadline: April 1, 2007

Incorporating stencils into artwork is a clever and easy embellishment. Try your hand at this quick trick and send us the results. As always, there must be an element of rubber stamping included to qualify for publication. Check out the projects in the Aug/Sep '07 issue.

Frightful 'N Delightful

Submission Deadline: April 1, 2007

This challenge was so popular we decided to bring it back for another go around. We want to see Halloween cards created with non-Halloween rubber stamp images. Look at your images in a different way to create witch hats, cats, pumpkins, haunted houses, ghosts, goblins and other assorted Halloween characters. We hope you have a howling good time creating these horrifying projects.
