German Bouillon
Not vintage, but authentic Steifkantille (German Bouillon), still made in Germany in the traditional fashion. Steifkantille is created from fancily-spun metal bouillon which is twisted around a central core of wire (they're kind of like tiny, long slinkies). This helps it to hold its shape so that it can be formed into all manner of decorative embellishments. Click on the small ornaments to see enlargements that use Bouillon.

Sold by the strand (each strand is 20" long and is coiled in a round tin).

Shoe Buttons
Yes, these are antique shoe buttons. How many times have I buttoned an actresses' boots with a button hook? (Yes, I used to work in a theatre.) Two options:
- 25 medium-sized carved shell (about 1/2" diameter) that are, unbelievably, dead stock (meaning store store that was never sold).
- 40 used, mixed-colored half-dome buttons (leather-covered buttons, approx 3/8" diameter).

Both options have metal shanks, are packaged in a medium jeweler's tin (glass lid; 1-7/8" diameter), and are over 100 years old. Very limited quantities.

The carved shell buttons are backordered.
