2-Hole Metal Punch

This punch can make holes in metal thicknesses up to approximately 2-3mm, depending on metal type. Screw action makes holes without deforming metal. Can also be used for plastic and other materials.

Rubber Block

This vulcanized block can be used wet or dry without the chance of slipping. It allows the removal of dents and straightening of metals without distorting or scratching the surface. Also, you can set a steel block on this rubber block to absorb shock when texturing or imprinting letters into metal. Measures 4" x 4" x 1"

A rubber block was used under the 16mm Filigree Bead Cap and 8mm Etched Bead Cap to keep them from scratching while they were being flattened (for the riveted sample art shown in the small photo).

Brass Rivets

1/4" long nailhead rivets with a vintage patina. Simply punch or drill a 1.5mm hole into your pieces, and use a ball peen or chasing hammer to do the rest. You can rivet flattened bead caps, hardware or findings to our Brass Pendant Blanks for a unique layered look.

Note: You can rivet varying sized holes as long as you use a washer (or a flattened bead cap as a washer).

To rivet:
1. Punch or drill a 1.5mm hole into your pieces, slide the rivet through both pieces.
2. Cut excess length off the rivet end to about 1/16" (brass is soft so side cutters work fine).
3. Lay your pieces on a hard surface, preferably a steel bench block, with the nail head facing down and the rivet end slightly protruding.
4. Lightly tap, using a ball peen or chasing hammer, the rivet end so it spreads out slightly over the hole opening. Gradually increase the intensity of the hammer taps until both pieces are secure.

The star pendant sample also uses a Spoked Gear and Star Trellis Filigree.

A Spoked Gear, a Square Brass Pendant Blank and a Small Hammered Ring are also shown in the hammered (square) pendant sample.

A rubber block was used under the 16mm Filigree Bead Cap and 8mm Etched Bead Cap to keep them from scratching while they were being flattened (for the earrings sample).
