Two New Swaps for Spring

"Spring Fling" Fabric Postcard Swap

Fabric postcards are just that... mailable postcards made of fabric. They might be quilted or glued to a base to make them stiff enough to mail, but they can still be bendable. Here are some sites with different artist's processes and artwork: Deb Richardson, Pamela Allen, Kathie Briggs. You'll see that some of these postcard samples use lots of charms and embellishments, and probably wouldn't be mailed.

You don't need to sew either. My bathing beauties sample (at right) used no sewing — it was "glued" together using fusible web (I even bound the edges by ironing seam binding onto fusible web and then wrapping & ironing it around the edges). More pics of samples are in the gallery.

Your interpretation of the "spring fling" theme could include a spring dance, new love, a seaside or country picnic, or anything else you can think up.
