Fear not! Even though this kit is now sold out, there are still links to the individual items that were sold as a kit on this page. (Plus lots of eye candy from the Design Team!)
This kit began with me playing around with paper cut-outs and designing a chipboard banner to fit the width of an ATC (so 2-1/2" wide): Banner with Swags Die-Cut Chipboard (an Alpha Stamps exclusive)!
The curve of the banner adds a little height to the standard size of an ATC. And the drapery swags at the sides can be decorated with patterned papers or with your own doodles, like on the bright blue sample art below by Design Team Member Kira Nichols (or read the next paragraph for some ready-made curtains).
Then, of course, I had to design a collage sheet with some ornate curtains to fit the new chipboard banner: Valentine Banners Collage Sheet. And Laura also designed a collage sheet with some banners that fit the chipoard: Romance Collage Sheet (though Laura's collage sheet is not included in the kit).
Speaking of things in the kit, everything in this month's kit is also available to buy separately (until sold out). See the "We Also Recommend" section at the bottom of this page for links to all the individual components.
The February kit contains:
Two collage sheets (printed on cardstock):
- Valentine Banners Collage Sheet
- La Belle Epoque Collage Sheet (Ah, La Belle Epoque... I am so fond of those huge hats, made to fit over those huge hair styles.)
Lucille 6x6 Paper Pad (9 sheets from this pad... there are 18 different papers in the pad so you'll get a selection with a range of all the colors and prints in the pad. See the photos of the kit on this page for an idea of the selections. And you can buy the full pad if you fall in love with the prints.)
Banner with Swags Die-Cut Chipboard (3 pieces)
Mixed Faceted Teardrops (A mix of acrylic beads in clear AB, pinks and reds; see the photos — you get quite a few)
Mixed Color Metallic Starbursts (Who knows what you'll come up with for these colorful, corrugated, metallic starbursts.)
A Bronze Round Filigree Sequin (Nicely cut and embossed. Large for a sequin so may try to curl a bit, but looks great layered with other metallic embellishments, like in the sample by Kira Nichols at right.)
Valentine Kit Ribbon Set (1/2 yard each of 5 ribbons chosen for this kit; also available as a separate ribbon set with a full yard of the same 5 ribbons.)
See the "We Also Recommend" section at the bottom of this page for photos and links to all of those items.
Kits are announced the first weekend of each month. However, if you sign up for a subscription, your kit will have already been mailed to you (generally by the 20th of the previous month).
If you buy a subscription after the 15th of the month, your first kit will be for the following month (so if you subscribe on February 16th, the March kit will be your first kit).
Kits from previous months will be available for purchasing until sold out.
If you are participating in the monthly ATC swap, swap art
will be was due by the last day of the month (so February 28th for the February swap). Note: You do not have to buy the monthly kit to participate in that month's swap (however, the collage sheets & chipboard banners are sold at a discount if purchased in the kit). The February ATC swap will require using the new Banner with Swags Die-Cut Chipboard, but any Valentine's Day collage sheet (or rubber stamp) image is fair game (not just the 2 new collage sheets included in the kit). .
Sample art pics below (from left to right) are by Design Team Members Rhonda Secrist Thomas, Laura Carson and Kira Nichols. Click on all the photos to see more details.
Note: If purchased separately, all these goodies would cost over $25.00; and if you buy them in the kit, you'll also save a fair amount of time.
