Chipboard Reliquaries Swap!

NEW Split Front Box – Large! Remember the Split Front Box from Kristin Batsel's Freak Show? This is a larger version! Approx. 9″ wide x 7″ tall x 3″ deep when closed.
And Laura Carson has made an amazing Mini Apothecary with this new box! (Ok… “mini” might be confusing. But Laura’s apothecary is mini compared to the large one she made a couple years ago.)
Laura designed a large group of new collage sheets and digital image sets with book covers and pages for making magical books to fill your apothecary.
“With a library filled with magical books, you’ll need a special bookstand with a mechanical gizmo that lets you decipher hidden text and tricky spells.
“In the video I’ll show you various bookmaking techniques, using my new collage sheet images and other materials.
“I’ve written a series of spells, enchantments, and potions to incorporate into small handmade books. Well except for the “Witches Brew” by Shakespeare. Some are dark and some are light, something for everyone.

“Of course you can’t have an apothecary without bottles. In the video I’ll the various types of spray paints I used to color and texture the bottles.
“Checkout the bowl held by two dragons (colored brown and shown in photo at left). Guess what, it’s half of a ping pong ball.”
I borrowed an image at right (from Laura’s video tutorial) to show a “before and after” shot of the chipboard dragons on the front doors/covers of the box. Such a cool idea to just use some chunky yarn to add veins to the wings, before adding color and texture.

What a fabulous mini apothecary. I’d follow Laura’s guidelines but perhaps grunge it up and add some spooky cobwebs and spiders.
I have been working on a wizard room and this would be a great addition to the room.

Love, love, love 🙂 I would use the split front box to make a witch’s spell room – so it would still have lots of bottles for potions, and a grimoire – I would add in a collection of gem/crystal chips and make a small wand & a staff.
Oh somehow I see Christmas here. I also wonder if you could use quarter scale bits of furniture for a little home for tiny people. It reminds me of some of the doll houses I have seen that open in a similar fashion. It would make an awesome little gnome home actually that may be what I would do with a Christmas /Solstice theme
I would have to make a creepy apothecary of course, but I can also see a North Pole toy workshop!

I think I would make a Ghostbusters themed “work bench” that holds all the tools needed to be a Ghostbuster! Lots of tools to choose from! It woud probably have some ectoplasma on it too!

For the neat split front box I would use it for an attic full of treasures long ago forgotten.
Fabulous project! I would make a Halloween themed split front box! And with some of the other prize winnings I’d make cards and ATCs!
I am not sure what I would make with this give a way but I know that when I have it in hand I would figure it out. I am thinking about my Halloween Clock. Thank you for a great give a way again.
Ooooh! I’d love to either try a potions cupboard, or maybe the room of an Astronomer! Globes and star charts and telescopes.

I would make a wizards space. For his wands (which I have made but need a home) his potions, powders and odd things they may have. Oh and his hat, mustnt forget the hat.
I would add a witches snack booth to my Halloween village with all sorts of creepy snacks as well as some street vendor type objects like, witches hats and wands….so much fun!
Halloween is my favorite holiday and something like this would look wonderful with all my decorations.

A haunted museum.
As I have stated before, I’m making a small haunted village. But I also just finished a large apothecary cabinet! It was so awesome to of won last years Halloween giveaway ” pretty potions and spell book” especially being Wiccan AND plainly stated it would be mine… And it did! I know you use the random website, but thought it was wonderful! Would be awesome if I won this one this year!! Lol but.. Ya, I would try to re-create Laura’s cabinet!!! HUGE HUGE FAN OF THIS LADIES WORK!! It’s SPOOKTACKULAR!!!
