Wow! A beautiful book by Rhonda Thomas, using the new 5×7 Black Tabbed Book shown at right; lots of new & back in stock items (including Halloween papers and dinosaurs (?!)) — and a 30% off sale on the Die-Cut Shapes section!

The Butterfly Garden 12×12 Paper Pad (shown at left, and related to the 6×6 size that’s also included in this month’s kit) is perfect for covering a larger project, like the…

Butterfly Garden Flip Book by Design Team Member Rhonda Thomas

Isn’t this lovely? Rhonda mixed papers from both the 6×6 and 12×12 size Butterfly Garden pads with the new 5×7 Black Tabbed Book and the result is just beautiful!

Here’s an intro from Rhonda’s blog post:

Lately, I have been searching through antique shops and thrift stores for old books full of butterflies, birds, flowers, ferns and mushrooms. They can be really hard to find. I have always been fond of vintage ephemera and using layers upon layers in my art work. So this month’s “Butterfly Garden Kit” has really been a treat for me.

As detailed as my flip book is, it really took little effort to put it all together. And the only real vintage items I used were millinery flowers that I have collected over the years and the labels from the hats they adorned. I also used a few pieces from a gorgeous “Butterfly Garden Ephemera” set that is available to purchase separately from the kit.

I added the Wide Letter Box Accordion Book to one of my pages and attached it with a bit of twine. [Note: a photo of the accordion book is below in the Giveaway section.] I really love how the black background frames the papers, collage sheet images, and looks so rich with the purple hues of the papers.

I sooo agree! The purples and lavenders in the scrapbook papers (and the 2 collage sheets designed to coordinate) look great against the black background. The silver hand charm and the bronze bee charm in close-ups below are a fun addition, too.

Beside the few photos shown here (and below in the Giveaway section), visit Rhonda’s blog post for lots more info & photos! And here’s a link to the full supply list.

Tabbed Book & Butterflies Giveaway!

And that promised photo of Rhonda’s accordion book! This smaller book fits in a shallow pocket Rhonda made on one of the larger Black Tabbed Book pages, using a strip of scrapbook paper as the pocket (plus adding twine to secure the book). That will make more sense when you see more photos in Rhonda’s blog post.

Soooo many pretty options for this Giveaway! I picked out these items from Rhonda’s supply list:
– The Butterfly Garden Kit (that includes 1 each of all the designs in the 6×6 paper pad — and the 2 collage sheets that Rhonda used as pockets for tags throughout her project… AND 3 metal charms, including the fancy bee on the book cover)
5×7 Black Tabbed Book
Silver Hand Charm or Connector
Flora ATCs Collage Sheet (shown at far right and above in the accordion book)
Wide Letter Box Accordion Book
