Happy Holidays Room Box by Design Team Member Shannon Cooper

Wow! This is so beautiful! Shannon made the fireplace from the new Fireplace Facade and a Deep Open Front 4.5 x 5.5 Shadowbox (and made that lovely garland decorating the mantelpiece, too)!

Here’s some text from Shannon’s blog post to get us started:

It is time to get ready for Christmas! I usually start hauling out the colossal collection of holiday decorations directly after Thanksgiving, mostly because it takes a solid week of deciding what items are going to be used, and where are they going to be placed, and…Jiminy Christmas, this year I’m demanding that the Harry Potter tree get placed in front of the window!

In preparation for the whole-house decorating, I decided to spend a little time making a 1:12 scale Christmas room box complete with a cozy fireplace. And a cat. Can’t forget the cat.

The fireplace is a Deep Open Front 4.5 x 5.5 Shadowbox with a Fireplace Facade glued to the front. I added thin strips of lightweight card along the top, apron, bottom, and around the surround, then made a mantel from a rectangle of thin basswood. The inside (which was done before the front was glued on) is Red Brick Wall Scrapbook Paper and an old pebble-y paper that has been in the stash for eons. I painted the fireplace a nice pale eggnog color before adding glowing embers, beautiful Victorian Andirons, and a sprinkling of actual ash from our fire pit. The andirons are heavy cast metal that I painted with metallic rust acrylic. They would look pretty in black, too!

This is such a great project, Shannon! I love the colors and the whole vintage Christmas feeling!

Note: Shannon also added a mini-tutorial for making the garland on her blog post (AND the parts to make your own fruity garland are included in the Giveaway below)!

Go visit Shannon’s blog post for more photos and that tutorial! Here’s her supply list. And read on, as there are tons of Christmas treats still below!

    More New Goodies!

Oh, that new Tiny Round Christmas Labels Half Sheet (at far right of first row below) was used by Shannon on the lid of the Half Scale Round Cookie Tin on her tiny table! See everything new or back in stock today!

Hooray for the Fruity Garland Giveaway!

I picked out the supplies Shannon used to make that festive garland for today’s Giveaway:
    - Wired Pine Needle Stems (two of them)
    - Mini Pears
    - Mini Oranges
    - Red Apples – 1:12 Scale
    - Flower Stamen – Gold (used as walnuts)

Bonus: I’m also including the Tiny Ceramic Santa Claus Bead peeking out of the Green Mini Stocking with Lace & Ribbon Trim (shown hanging from the garland in the photo at left — yes, I’m including that new stocking, too)!

Just click on this Supply List link for photos and links to everything in Shannon’s artwork, including all of the Giveaway items listed above!

And here’s another link to her blog post, as she included a tutorial on making the garland!

Plus i’m including one of the Mini Garland Kits (see below for more info).

To enter the Fruity Garland Giveaway drawing all you have to do is leave a comment BELOW on this blog post TODAY (the deadline is 11:59 pm PST, Friday Night, November 29, 2019).

Oooh! FREE Gift with Every Order!

Oh, these are fun! We’ve made up lots of little gift kits for this weekend! There are a variety of styles, but they’re all supplies for making Christmas gifts (or decorating packages).

Per Shannon’s beautiful garland, I’ve picked out this Mini Garland Kit (shown at left) for today’s FREEBIE! Aw… as it includes a Printed Wooden Christmas Stockings Button (plus greenery and red tinsel) you’re on your way to decorating a mantelpiece. I also added a Mini Red Pip Berry Garland (that I rolled up like a wreath).

Note: all orders TODAY will automatically receive one of these Mini Garland Kits. If we run out, there are lots more options (there are 7 kits so far). And different ones not yet shown, linked to each day’s artwork, will be featured tomorrow through Monday!

BONUS: If you spend $50 (also the threshold for free shipping in the US), then I’ll substitute the fab 3D Santa & Silver Charms Kit shown below (2 kits are shown in that wide photo). That kit includes the Jeweler’s Tin shown in the photo, too! Some items are custom to the gift kit, but here are those available to purchase separately. Note: you’ll just get one of the charms from the Round 12 Days of Christmas Number Charms Set (so not everyone will get the number “12″ shown in the photo). If you spend over $50 and want the Mini Garland Kit instead, just leave a note on your order.

There nothing special to add to your order! (No discount code to enter!) All orders TODAY will receive one of the free gifts! Note: If you guys go crazy, I may substitute an item if I need to make up more kits, but there are already bunches ready to go!
