Alice Tea Party Pop-up Shrine; Everything ALICE on SALE!

Filed under Alice in Wonderland, Art Projects, Giveaways, Sale, Shannon Cooper, Tutorials

I love pop-ups and mechanical cards… and how cute is this little top hat niche shrine (with pop-up Alice and Mad Hatter characters)!

Design Team Member Shannon Cooper made TWO Alice shrines today! This first top hat one is called Pop-Up Tea Time and uses the new Top Hat Little Niche Shrine with a matching solid top hat that Shannon hinged onto the bottom to make a cover for the shrine (and she provides a tutorial, too)!

Starting with a bit of intro from Shannon’s blog post:

This shrine is shaped like a top hat (is it a magician’s? a ringmaster’s? some dapper dancing dude’s? Could be anyone’s!) With Alice on the brain, I made the Mad Hatter’s chapeau with a little surprise inside. I used the Niche Shrine – Top Hat but added a Chipboard Top Hat Blank to the front. The outside is a tad boring, but when the flap is folded down, a scene appears inside.

Inside the shrine is the sleeping Dormouse, the Cheshire Cat, a stack of teacups, and a pouring teapot. (Psst, the “tea” is hot glue colored with a brown marker.)

Soooo clever! Not just the stream of tea made from hot glue, but the whole concept of a hinged top hat with a scene and pop-ups inside!

Read more (and see more photos and the tutorial) in Shannon’s blog post! Above are photos/links for a few of the items from Shannon’s Pop-Up Tea Time Supply List… and keep reading as there’s a related Flash Sale, TONS of new Alice-themed supplies, and a Giveaway including supplies from both this top hat and a second shrine!

Hooray for the
Alice Niche Shrines Giveaway!

I know! Shannon is a crazy girl, and made a SECOND project today, called “I’m Late!” The new Little Niche Shrine – Pocket Watchreminded me of Alice’s encounter with the White Rabbit, so of course that’s what I turned it into. The shrine was painted black and gold, and I stamped a bunch of numbers onto Aged Parchment Scrapbook Paper before gluing it to the front. Details were added with a Micron or gold paint pen. It was finished off with a few collage sheet images, paper roses, and a chipboard flourish.

Wow… EVERYTHING in Shannon’s Pop-Up Tea Time Supply List AND I’m Late Supply List is included in today’s Giveaway! Between the 2 projects, that’s 17 items (7 of which are highlighted at left or below).
