Peek-a-boo Card Tutorial by Kristin Batsel

Peek-a-boo, I see you! Or perhaps a black cat, or Alice in Wonderland, or a fairy or two? The exclusive 4×4 Die-Cut Chipboard Frame Sets were designed for cards with images that show through (or peek out from around the edges of) the peep hole on the front of the card.

3 new collage sheets were designed for the 4×4 Die-Cut Chipboard Frame Sets:

1 – Scary Silhouettes Collage Sheet
I had fun picking these out: everything from skeletons to hearses (2 of them) to Little Miss Muffet and her spider.

2 – Opera Silhouettes Collage Sheet
A nice selection of backgrounds, city skylines, curtains and 18th century ladies with fans. Tag at right by Design Team Member Rhonda Thomas; see the collage sheet page for more info/photos.

3 – Alice Silhouettes Collage Sheet
Ton of images from Alice in Wonderland: The White Rabbit (actually, quite a few poses of him), the Red Queen (and the King of Hearts), the Caterpillar, the Mad Hatter's Teaparty… lots of the faves are here.

Don’t you just love the “Peek-a-boo” theme for just about anything? All sorts of images dance through your head; a baby’s face, or chubby little hands over that baby’s face, spooky creatures, funny animals peeking out, dancing women, perhaps just a leg poking out from behind frills, or even dare I say it … naked women!

But oh how I digress. Take a look at what Miz Kristin Batsel has come up with using the 4×4 Die-Cut Chipboard Frame Set. Not only is it adorably spookylicious, but it is Halloween-themed; and you know that here at Alpha Stamps it is our favorite holiday that we celebrate year round!

Kristin used an image from the Black Cat Collage Sheet as her focal point. Then Kristin added a too-cute Small White Picket Fence wrapped with Black Stitched-Leaf Ribbon and finished off with tiny Pumpkin Pods?! All that with the classic Halloween color palette makes me shriek like a banshee impatiently waiting for Halloween to arrive! The whole big laughing moon and the scaredy-faced black cat are some of my favorite vintage Halloween-theme images and Kristin has put them together beautifully.

Screech on over to Kristin’s blog for a tutorial to see what other items she used and how she made her card for the Peek-a-boo Card Swap.

More swap samples by the Design Team can be seen here.

Are you ready? For the Halloween Peek-a-boo Card Giveaway!? I’ve pulled just about every item Kristin used in her card … plus a couple extra goodies that I thought worked well with the theme and the palette (so there’s probably enough paper and trims for 10 cards!); here are just a few highlights (and more are included in the “related” section below):
