Tunnel Book Love – and Giveaway!

Filed under Art Projects, Bella's Corner, Design Team, Giveaways, Newsletters, Tutorials

Here at Alpha Stamps we are falling head-over-heels for tunnel books. You may remember How To Make A Tunnel Book by Kira Nichols from last month and today we have Tunnel Book Love from Lora Mahaffey!

The first thing I want to do when I see these gorgeous tunnel books that Lora made is tear off my clothes and jump right into the ocean! However. The rumor is that people have either turned to stone, cried for their mommy or gone stark raving mad when they have seen me without my makeup on so I shudder to think of what would happen if anyone saw me running around stark naked on the beach. So I’ll settle for dressing up in gorgeous clothing from long ago with my parasol on the beach instead just like one of the beach babes on Lora’s book. Once again — I am digressing!

While these tunnel books may appear to be very time consuming and difficult to master — the reality is that they’re very easy to make. Lora shows you how to start out with the 4×4 Die-Cut Chipboard Frame Set, the New! Boardwalk Fashions and Bathing Costumes Collage Sheets, then with a cut here, a snip there and watch out! You have a tunnel book! (Psst! And since the entire Beach Theme section is still on sale — though July 20th — that means all the new beachy goodies in the newsletter are on sale, too!)

What I really love about Lora’s tunnel books are that you could actually make one book but then change out the inner frames to make a completely different book. You could create a neutral background with the New! Beach and Shore Backdrops Collage Sheet then create enough frames from other collage sheets to interchange within the book for a completely new look! For instance, creating images from the New! Children At The Beach Collage Sheet but when you tire of romping children then have frames ready to switch out with using the Mermaids #3 Collage Sheet.

Photos of all the variations of Lora’s 3 tunnel books are in the Gallery.

Just imagine what a great gift this could be for someone at the holidays with all of the Halloween, Christmas and Assorted Collage Sheets that Alpha Stamps carries! As always — we would love to see the tunnel books that you come up with so be sure to email me jpeg pictures of your creations so they can be showcased on the Alpha Stamps Blog and Facebook Page!

So here’s the link to Lora’s Tunnel Book Love Tutorial — and don’t forget to scroll down first, or come back, to leave a comment to enter the drawing for today’s Giveaway!

Are you ready? For the Beach Tunnel Book Giveaway!? I’ve pulled together pretty much every Lora used in all of her tunnel books, plus some extra goodies that I think work well with the theme and pallete:
    - ALL Four new collage sheets (see photos/links above)
    - BOTH sets of new Grand Adhesions (see photos/links above)
    - 4×4 Die-Cut Chipboard Frame Set
    - Fresh Mini Paper Set
    - 20mm White Spiral Shell Beads
    - Four more collage sheets that Lora used: Ships and Waves Backdrops, Mermaids #3, Under the Sea, Greetings From the Beach
    - And a little flurry of ribbons or twine: Pearl Aqua Seam Binding, Grey Blue Seam Binding, Soapstone Beige, Metal Green Seam Binding, Bakers Twine, Light Aqua Silk Ribbon, Khaki Tan Silk Ribbon, Red Crepe Ribbon

To enter the Beach Tunnel Book Giveaway drawing all you have to do is leave a comment on this blog post by midnight, July 12, 2013 (Friday night PST). (Don’t forget to leave your email address, too, so I can contact the winner; note, your email address does not need to be made public. Note: I’m offering free shipping, too, but only within the USA. International shipping will still apply.)

Please be patient! Spammers try to post crap here a lot so comments are moderated. So if you don’t see your post in the comments section, be patient and check back in a few hours before re-posting it, please!

By Sunday morning’s newsletter, I’ll randomly pick the winner (via Random.org). So make sure to check back Sunday to see who won!
