 November 10th Update:
The Marie Christmas Giveaway Winner is…

Before Miz Bella waxes poetic about Laura Carson’s beautiful Marie Antoinette/Christmas project, just a quick note to announce that Carmen Willis is the Coffin Tags Swap Prize Winner! (See this blog post for all the info). And now handing this off to Bella!

Well folks. It looks like Miz Laura Carson has been nipping at the Alien Art Pod juice again. Seriously — when does this crazy woman sleep?!

Check out this amazing Shadow Box Book that Laura made! Laura very casually mentions that this masterpiece was inspired by the New! Room With A View and Have A Seat Collage Sheets created by that other fabulous crazy woman, Teri Calia. (Actually we’re all crazy here at Alpha Stamps. Some of us quite a bit more than others; but you hush now! You certainly didn’t hear that from me.)

I have been going back and forth looking at the pictures from Laura’s amazing tutorial and am just amazed at how much detail there is to this project! Which really doesn’t surprise me since it IS Laura Carson we’re talking about, but wow! Every time I think that there’s no possible way Laura can top what she’s most recently done, she goes and proves me wrong.

There is so much to take in that I can’t possibly go over everything that I am enamored of in this post. However, I will let you know what a few of my favorite things are within Laura’s creation: first, the non-traditional, royal holiday colors that Laura used; then, how she created the wreath (it’s SO simple and so cute!), and how she created and enhanced the dress for Marie Antoinette. Then there are the hat boxes, items spilling out of the book and gorgeous background papers from the New and On Sale! St. Nicholas 6×6 Paper Pad. I am not going to elaborate any further on any of my favorites — you will have to see it for yourself to believe it all!

In the tutorial Laura says:

Since all things Marie are over the top… now it’s time to go crazy with embellishments.

My darlings, I must take a few seconds to cackle and compose myself. “Over the top” and “going crazy with embellishments” are truly SO Laura, are they not? Merely 2 of the many, many reasons we love her and her amazing creativity!

Before you go off and lose your head wanting to see the tutorial (of course the pun is intended) you can check out the elements that Laura used here. And additional photos are in the gallery.

Are you ready now to view Laura’s step-by-step tutorial?! You can see it here!

Don’t forget to look below for the Giveaway Miz Meghan chose, based on Laura’s artwork!

AND, that Marie Antoinette Gift Kit shown at left (a FREE gift kit inspired by Laura’s artwork — free for all orders over $20 till we run out!) is also included in today’s Giveaway. And, all the scrapbook papers included in the kit are On Sale too!
