New Twisted Citron Distress Color + Artwork by Laura Carson

Filed under Art Projects, Giveaways, Laura Carson, Newsletters, Run Away & Join the Circus Kit, Tim Holtz

Note: most of the links on this post no longer work, as we moved to a new Web site in 2018. However, you can see the supply list items from Laura’s project that are still available on the new site.

Before jumping into Miz Bella’s introduction of Laura Carson’s circus art (and FREE collage sheet!) a reminder and an announcement: ALL of the collage sheets are On Sale! AND we’ve extended the Half Price Sale on Circus Rubber Stamps! Note: the Tim Holtz Stamp Sets are on sale for 20% off — still a great deal!

Keeping in step with the Run Away and Join the Circus Kit Theme, Design Team Member Laura Carson presents The Circus Is Coming to Town and New Clowning Around Collage Sheet!

The inspiration for this fun filled piece is the Metal Bicycle Frame; it makes such a cool back drop for clown’s shenanigans. I could also see this piece being incorporated into other themed projects like Steampunk or a summer/children themed piece.

How amazing is that Metal Bicycle Frame? Not to mention that it is an impressive 9″ x 8-1/2″ x 3″. Laura has created my favorite type of circus, one where it’s the animals who are in charge and in this circus, it’s the dashing Mr. Elephant! Beside images from the kit (like the Reversible Clowns Collage Sheet), lots of the clowns in Laura’s circus are from her new Clowning Around Collage Sheet that has colorful clowns in some really useful positions (holding things, pointing at things, facing left and right…). And those round designs fit the Medium Spools and 2 Inch Wooden Spools (so you can use the spools as wheels).

The clown flying sideways, holding the end of the circus banner made from the Mini Lacy Banner Flags cracks me up! Grab your peanuts while you check out Laura’s supply list and then head on over to the big top of Laura’s blog where there is a tutorial and a FREE collage sheet waiting for you!

And note: for this week (through next Saturday night, May 23rd) we’ll be including a FREE cardstock version of that same The Circus is Coming to Town Collage Sheet in all orders! It includes fun stylized “CIRCUS” and “FUN” text and signage (and balloons).
