A Snowy Wonderland in an Upcycled Jar

Filed under 3D House Ornament Kit, Art Projects, Gifts/Decorations, Giveaways, Newsletters, Nichola Battilana, Tutorials

I know! It’s a week till Christmas! So, just a couple quick announcements before Miz Bella (Kim Ayers) introduces TWO projects from that talented Nichola Battilana.

First: a reminder that the Christmas Sale ends THIS Sunday, December 21st (and there’s time to download some digital images or collage sheets for making last-minute gifts).

Second: the January kits are mailing today! (For subscribers whose autopay dates have already hit.)

Third: yes, it’s that time again: While the Cat’s Away… More info

Sledding through at breakneck speed, with her offering from the 3D House Ornament Kit and House Add-On Kit is Design Team Member Nichola Battilana.

Last year I received a number of these jars filled with candy. The candy is long gone but the jars are still kicking about my kitchen. When Alpha Stamps announced their 3D House Ornament Kit for December I thought I’d create a fun little wonderland to re-gift the jar.

Absolutely adorable with its tiny little house covered in Christmas Collage Scrapbook Paper – Caroling, with the Retro Bottle Brush Tree Set – Green, and it all twinkling under the snow as St. Nicholas comes to deliver presents.

Now at Alpha Stamps, we love all things glittery and sparkly. According to Nichola, she has just discovered Stickles (which she used throughout the items in and on the jar.) Yes, yes…I know! Absolute insanity. Of course I’d sell my mother before I ever gave up my hoarded stash of Platinum Stickles!

Cut-outs added from Christmas Stocking Stripes Collage Sheet, embellished with Diamond Stickles and Star Tinsel tops off the re-gifted jar.

After you finish raiding your house for glass jars, check out Nichola’s supply list. Then put your mittens and scarf on before you head on over to Pixie Hill to visit with Nichola.

Wait! Before you tear your house apart — there’s one more project to show you that Nichola made. Take a look at this over-the-moon cute calendar that Nichola made using the Time to Flourish collection.

Time to Flourish is a gorgeous collection. You can make calendars, cards, decor for your home or whatever else your Muse dictates with it. Nichola says the project is “deceptively easy to create.” Well OK then! We love easy, especially at this time of year.

Nichola combined matching monthly elements from the Time to Flourish 8×8 Paper Pad, embellished with the coordinating Tags & Pockets, Stickers and Chipboard. Once everything was put together, the calendar cards are housed in a Mixed-Media 5×5 Box. A lovely creation, don’t you think?

And that sweetheart, Nichola, provided a tutorial!

New Goodies – ALL On Sale!
They won’t arrive by Christmas (but wouldn’t you like to look forward to a package in January?)

Hooray! A Mason Jar Shrine Starter Giveaway!

Aw… look how festive that group is, with all the red and white. And I included a set of the back in stock Red Tiny Paper Roses (’cause… you know… in addition to looking fab with this Christmas collection, they would work well for Valentine’s Day (yes, I said it!))

I started by picking out a few items from Nichola’s Christmas Jar (note: that’s a link to the supply list with links and photos):
– Santa is Outside Collage Sheet
– Christmas Stocking Stripes Collage Sheet
– Glitter House Template Collage Sheet
– Christmas Collage Scrapbook Paper – Caroling
– Double Dot Vintage Wild Berry Scrapbook Paper
– Tinsel
– Star Tinsel
– Thin Looped Dresden Borders – Red

Then I added a couple more items (and those Red Tiny Paper Roses):
Mason Jar Toppers – Lid with Label Holder
Frosted White Sisal Trees
1 Inch Resin Santa & Snowman Ornaments (On Sale!)
