New Artwork in the Gallery

Artwork is already arriving for the Fabric Postcard swap. There's only 2 days left to sign up (deadline in April 8th). Some lovely little fabric ATCs by Lenna have also recently arrived.

Reminder: “The House Inside My Head” Contest

The house in my head has too many rooms for an ATC or even a small shrine, so this is a contest requiring a blank book. The winner gets a $50 gift certificate to our online shop. Deadline for submitting your entries (via email) is May 31, 2007. Here's a page with all the contest specs.

Forum & (New Gallery) Temporarily Down

I think the "moving daylight savings time up" patches have thrown the ISP for a loop. (Why are we changing it anyway? It was pretty useless before moving it earlier in March...)

The original galleries are still live.

More soon.

Slow Web Sites & Trade Shows

I'm sorry if you were trying to view this site early on Saturday. My hosting company was having some unnamed problem. Seems to be fixed but no explanation from them...

I'm off to a trade show tomorrow to buy some more pretty things for the site... check the Forum on Monday; I'll post some pics from the show floor.

Look what that sweetheart Miz Carla sent me for Valentine's Day! They even arrived on the 14th (click on the pic for a photo showing both pieces). Nice weight for hanging — I think the base is gessoed canvas.

Mme. Ophélie Daguerre

Ooooh! Look what Mz. Bella sent me for Christmas! Isn't she lovely? (the doll and Mz Bella)

Bella's been helping me set up a forum area for the site... maybe we'll have to have an art doll swap when we get things finished... what do you all think? 3D dolls? paper dolls? fabric and paper dolls? As the blog's still in process of being moved to a new server, please email me your ideas.

Just a Little Update

I had a database file go belly up so until I load the blog software on my new server, posts will be a little sporatic. I survived the holidays and will be having minor surgery on Wednesday, so will be emailing anyone who orders on Tuesday night or Wednesday re: tardy order fulfilling. (Hey, if you live in the East Bay area of the SF Bay Area and need a part-time job helping out — and getting free art supplies — drop me a line.)

Here are a few new items... a larger list + a newsletter will come out later in the month:

One of my colleagues (who fostered my 2 cats when they were wee kittens) has been in the hospital since New Years' Day. I hope Vickie makes a speedy recovery.

Having Fun at Etsy

I bought a handmade doll from Mrs. Kwitty a little while ago and had to have her make a kitty cat for someone's birthday present. Isn't she fab?

It's been a while, so you may not even know we started this site with diazo (blueprinted) wrapping paper. Diazo giftwrap has been reintroduced. Read more about the designs and the diazo process on the Giftwrap Page.

Bella’s Handmade Dolls

I've been keeping this adorable doll (at right) a secret until I could give someone their belated birthday gift. Isn't she great? I love the single curly eyebrow.

Here are pics of other dolls Bella has found homes for.

At left is a pic of Bacchus threatening to destroy one of the guardian angel dolls Bella made for my cats, Bacchus and Hermes. (I adopted 2 kittens that Vickie over at Bmuse rescued last summer.) If you're a glutton for punishment, I've posted tons of photos of the boys on Flickr.
